    • 1). Select a veneer to use as the surface for your refrigerator doors. Choose a "Peel and Stick" veneer, which has already been coated with adhesive. Look for a veneer with a thickness of 10 mm, in a color and style which matches the existing wood surfaces in your kitchen. Although some veneers are untreated, most are attractively stained and finished in a variety of colors and styles.

    • 2). Remove the doors from the refrigerator, following the manufacturer's instructions. Generally, refrigerator doors are held in place by a large, Phillips-head screw on the top side of the hinge.

    • 3). Lay the doors face up on a large, flat surface.

    • 4). Place a large sheet of butcher paper over the top of each door. Hold the butcher paper in place with one hand, using the other hand to trace the outline of the door onto the paper with a permanent marker.

    • 5). Cut around the outlines of each piece of butcher paper with a pair of scissors, creating a template of the facing of each door.

    • 6). Lay each template on top of a sheet of veneer.

    • 7). Cut out each sheet of veneer. Hold the template firmly in place with one hand and cut around the edge of the template with a utility knife.

    • 8). Remove the paper backing from one of the veneer sheets.

    • 9). Press the veneer sheet firmly onto the front of the refrigerator door. Apply even pressure from the center of the sheet out to the edges to prevent air bubbles. Repeat this process for the other veneer sheet.

Sand around the edges of each sheet with a fine-grit sandpaper, smoothing away any rough edges.
