Create a Valentine's Day wall hanging or garden decoration by using a large, heart-shaped mold cut from 2-inch wide cardboard. Fold the cardboard into a heart shape and mix together plaster of Paris with equal parts water to form a pancake batter consistency. Place the heart mold on top of aluminum foil and pour the plaster into the mold. Press the hand you are molding into the plaster for 20 seconds and remove it, straight up. Push the ends of a 10-inch long piece of ribbon or twine into the top center of the plaster. Allow it to dry overnight and paint it with pink paint.

    Keepsake

    • Mix together plaster of Paris and equal parts water for a baby or child keepsake. Pour the plaster into an old aluminum pie plate. Press one or both of the child's hands into the plaster and wash his hands immediately. Wait 20 minutes and then push a plastic drinking straw into the top center of the plaster to create a hole. Remove the straw and allow the mold to dry completely. Take the pie plate off and thread ribbon through the hole. Write your child's name and the date with marker on the back of the keepsake.

    Anniversary

    • Celebrate an anniversary with you and your partner's handprints. Pour mixed plaster of Paris into an aluminum lasagna tray. Press your right hand and your partner's left hand into the wet plaster. Lift off and write your names and the anniversary date at the bottom with a sharpened pencil. After the plaster dries completely, paint it with a light yellow color. Remove it from the tray and place it onto a small wooden easel.
