How to Remove Mold & Mildew From Shower Grout
- 1). Spray the grout with an off-the-shelf bathroom mold and mildew remover. Allow to sit for 15 minutes.
- 2). Scrub the area with a hard-bristle scrub brush. A toothbrush is not strong enough. You need something with hard bristles to dig at the area. This will remove the mold from the grout, though some mildew may have soaked in deep.
- 3). Soak the paper towels in bleach. Wear rubber gloves to protect your hands.
- 4). Set the paper towels over the grout. Hopefully, the wetness of the paper towels will allow it to stick directly to the wall. If not, you may need to use tape to keep it on. Allow to soak for 15 minutes.
- 5). Scrub the grout again.
- 6). Repeat the process if the grout still has mildew. It can take several attempts before the mildew is completely gone.
