After my sinuses had gotten so infected that I had experienced severe associated tension headaches, I went and got antibiotics.
After I took them, they dried up the mucus flow somewhat but after they ran out, I was back at square one, after almost going crazy as i suffered from the terrible about headaches, my mother suggested that I inhale steam.
I never bothered to try it.
Another person suggested to me that i microwave a rag and use it.
I bore the discomfort until I decided that it had to stop there.
I wasn't fully convinced about the steam treatment until I tried it.
I felt the difference in less than a minute, and my headache abated in no time.
This experience made me more trusting of home remedies and I gradually researched other remedies and also tried some of them myself.
These are: Warm soups Cinnamon in warm water liquids (lemon, thyme or ginger tea is great) Foods/fruits rich in Vitamin C: Blackcurrant, Guava, Strawberry, Lemon, Orange, Kiwi Fruit, Lychees etc.
The most instant remedy is steam: you can inhale the steam from boiling water with a few drops of Euclyptus or peppermint oil, or you can place a towel into the water and when it is safely cooled, you place the towel over your face to allow the steam to give you relief.
This can also be done by heating a rag in a microwave as well.
I am sure that this brief list will be of great value to another victim of chronic sinusitis like myself.
