- 1). Plan the placement of your wall panels. Decide if you will have an arrangement of small panels covering a whole wall, or a selection of larger panels. Decide on the size, taking into account the ceiling height of the room and the placement of any immovable features, such as doors and windows.
- 2). Lay the sheet of foam core on the ground, and measure out the required size. The batting and fabric will add a little size to the panel, so cut the foam a half-inch smaller all-around, than the required finished size.
- 3). Measure and cut the fabric and batting to the same size as the foam core; adding 2-inches on all sides. Press the fabric to remove any wrinkles or creases, then lay it out flat on the floor, right-side-down. Place the batting on top. Smooth out any wrinkles with your fingers.
- 4). Place the foam core in the center of the batting. Fold each corner of the fabric and batting over the corner of the foam, and cut off any excess material. This is to make the corner less bulky, when you fold the fabric in.
- 5). Fold the first edge of the fabric and batting over the edge of the foam, and secure it with duct tape. Continue to work around the edges of the panel, keeping the fabric as taut as you can. Apply additional duct tape to stick the corners down firmly.
- 6). Cut four pieces of Velcro, and apply the loop side to the wall in the area where you want the panel. Position the hook side on top of the loop side, and remove the backing paper to reveal the sticky surface. Stick the panel onto the Velcro, sticking it firmly in place.
