Tens and Dimes
It all started at the coffee shop I worked at in Tacoma, Washington in 2010. One day at work I happened to find a dime and, of course, being the first one I did not think anything of it. However, when I continued and I would find them in random places, like the floor, the the edge of the espresso bar, the last coin in the tip jar, the only change given back to a customer....
So it went on, to the car and my apartment, the hotel room floor.
I really started to think there was something... some reason, someone behind it. What, though, I had no idea.
Months went by and I moved back to my home town in Clarkston, Washington, where my family lives. I moved in with my grandma first and there I continued to find dimes: one embedded in the carpet. (That was odd to find because it was long shag carpet, so it was really hidden in there.
Well then I went to see my brother, who is the main reason I came back. When I went in the front door, there right as I walked in, was a dime on the floor -- right in front of me. That same day, just hours later, he could not find his lighter, so I looked under the couch cushion -- and there were two dimes staring right at me.
Wow, this is just getting interesting now. As time went by, I started to work both of my old jobs: TacoTime and Pony Espresso. So here is were it gets real crazy. At Pony Espresso we sold homemade fudge... and there was a single dime inside the plastic dish the fudge was in, right in the corner where some the fudge had already been sold.
Then random places on the floor there as days past. At TacoTime, same thing. The only coin that dropped out of the register, the only coin left in the drawer -- just random.
This is a big one. It's all going to come together, so bare with me. I happened to glance down on my gramma's dresser, and there laying at the edge of a big yellow envelope was a dime, and by the dimes were some old photos. I looked through the photos and didn't see anything that sparked, so I went on about my business.
My brother called and asked if I was going to come by. I said yes, in just a little bit. So I left, went to my brother's later that night, and when I got there he was looking at some old photos that our grandpa Ray, who died in October (did you catch that? I said October -- the 10th month).
So I then got this crazy feeling in my body. I started putting it all together. My mom called me at work in October, the 10th month, and the first dime I found was at work. It was like I was led on a path, and for some reason he brought me here. I feel because of the dime I found on the old photos and then I found my brother looking at old photos that my grandpa had he may be trying to tell me something, maybe to do with the photos and all the writing and notes in the albums. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's it because I also found a dime laying on the floor next to the closet the albums are in.
