Hair Straightening With A Hairdryer

If you want to change your hairstyle, there are lots of different looks and styles that you could choose, but if you have curly or frizzy hair, choosing to "go straight" is an easy, yet dramatic change of style that will give you a stunning new look. The best thing about "going straight" is the fact that it need not be a permanent change, so you can just try the look out and then go back to your ordinary hairstyle when you next wash your hair! Although you can spend a lot of money on chemical hair straightening treatments, or buying a fancy set of hair straightening irons, you can actually straighten your hair, by yourself, for free, with just your average, run-of-the-mill hair styling tools. All you need is a hairdryer, some hair straightening balm, a barrel brush and some hair clips.

Start by washing and conditioning your hair as you would normally do when you have a shower, then lightly towel it dry to remove any excess moisture. Next apply heat protection serum from the roots, right through to the ends of your hair (this is not essential for the straightening process if you don't already have the serum, but it will help to give your hair more of a shine when it is dry). After you have applied the serum, get a little straightening balm in the palm of each of your hands and run your hands through your hair, massaging the balm in as you go, in order to get even coverage throughout your hair. If you have longer or thicker hair, you may need more balm, but try not to use too much balm.

Once your hair is evenly covered, comb through your hair to remove any tangles, and then it is time to start clipping your hair into smaller sections for straightening. It is easiest if you divide your hair into three sections, with one at each side, then a section at the back. Clipping up two sections will help you to keep the majority of your hair out of the way whilst you work on straightening the rest.

Take a small portion from the section which you haven't clipped up and use your barrel brush to gently brush your hair whilst blow-drying it. Start at the roots, and try to keep your hair gently stretched away from your head at a angle of about 45 degrees, pulling it straight as you go. Make sure you brush and dry the underside of each portion as well, or it may become frizzy when it begins to dry naturally. Try to be consistent with your drying and the levels of tension which you are applying to the hair.

Once one portion of hair is dry and straight, start working on the next portion, until the straightening process is completed on the whole section. Clip the whole section back up, and repeat the process with the other two sections of hair until all your hair is beautifully straight and sleek!

Hair straightening is affordable and easy once you learn how to blow it straight. Hair straightening balm is available from good hair salons. You can get more information at best hair straightening in Orange County and best haircuts in Orange County.
