    • 1). Take your photograph to a film developing shop and have it made into an image slide. Skip this step if you have a projector that can project an image without the use of a slide.

    • 2). Dust the wall with a broom. Unseen particles will prevent the mural paint from adhering. Wipe the entire wall with tack cloths, which are sticky cloths that attract dust.

    • 3). Spread drop cloths over the floor. Plastic coverings will allow paint drips to pool up. Use thick canvas drop cloths instead.

    • 4). Insert your image slide into a projector, or use a projector that goes right over your image to cast the projected image onto the wall.

    • 5). Using the image as a guide, trace out the basic elements with a pencil. This will help you remember where each part of your image is in case the projector is moved while you paint.

    • 6). Paint your mural onto the wall. Use craft brushes in various sizes, depending on the amount of detail in the image. If you are using many colors or applying many coats of paint, allow each to dry before going on to the next. When you are finished, let the mural dry for two hours.
