- 1). Clean up the car and take photos of it in good lighting. Think of images that would make you interested in a car because you'll use these to help sell the car. If there is any damage on the car, take a close-up of it to show potential buyers.
- 2). Post some ads to list the vehicle for sale in the Tuscon area. For print, list in the local newspaper. For the web, use the Craigslist, Sell My Car and Auto Trader website. Prices vary for the ads, with some being free. The ad should list the mileage, year, make, model and transmission of the vehicle as well as your contact details. Include photos when you can.
- 3). Sign the back of your Arizona car title in the presence of a notary, once you have accepted an offer on the car. Signing the title transfers the ownership of the car.
- 4). Remove your license plate from the vehicle before the buyer leaves with the car. You can return the plate to the motor vehicle department or transfer it to another vehicle that you own. If you return the plate, you may be eligible for a refund.
- 5). Complete a "Sold Notice" on the Service Arizona website. Use your car registration to complete the form. There is no fee to complete the form.
