Home Remedies for Lower Back Pain Using Medicinal Essential Oils
"I was out of work for six weeks due to back pain.
I tried everything-physicians, chiropractors, massage...
everything.
Nothing gave me the relief I needed.
I finally turned to aromatherapy.
After only one treatment I was pain free for a long time.
" This is only one anecdotal story, but it's a common one for those of us who have been recommending, training, and using essential oils for many years.
I just completed an essential oils "raindrop" treatment on my son who works in a restaurant and is on his feet leaning over pots, plates and grills for many hours a day.
Here's how it went.
Alignment Blend I began with a blend of oils designed for structural alignment.
It is often used by chiropractors to calm spasms and release tension and inflammation in the back and throughout the body.
It contains Blue Tansy, Rosewood, Frankincense, Spruce, German Chamomile, and other oils.
I had my son smell and comment on the wonderful aroma.
I mixed 6 drops with about a half teaspoon of Grapeseed Oil and worked it in along his spine starting at the pelvis moving upward using my forefinger knuckles up the back then feathering it out with my fingernails.
I repeated this 3 times.
Lavendar to Calm Inflammation For step two I had him smell Lavender then dripped about 8 drops, raindrop fashion, along his spine working it in with my knuckles and feathering it out.
I repeated this process, dropping the oils directly from the bottles.
Then I massaged each of them up the spine and feathered them out three times for each oil.
Once it got a little too hot so I added a little more Grapeseed Oil to cool the heat and applied the warm cloth again.
He rested with the warm towel on his back for about a half hour.
I re-heated and replaced the cloth twice.
He was up and acting normal in a very short time.
I encouraged him to continue to rest and apply heat and ice alternatively as his chiropractor had suggested for the day, but not to stay in bed for more than a day or two.
He needs to walk, and begin stretching and strengthening his core and hamstring muscles as soon as possible so the pain and inflammation doesn't return.
As chiropractors teach, the health and alignment of the spine is an important key to our overall wellness.
This "raindrop" technique can offer remarkable benefits for many health conditions like headaches, emotional distress, respiratory issues, digestive distress, and much more.
