- 1). Turn off the water supply to the bathroom at the water mains in the basement.
- 2). Pry off the cap of the shower handle. If the handle does not have a cap, look on the underside of it for a screw.
- 3). Remove the screw from the handle using a screwdriver or Allen wrench, depending on the screw type.
- 4). Pull on the handle to remove it from the valve.
- 5). Align the new handle over the valve and press it down. Insert the new screw and tighten it.
- 6). Turn on the water supply and test.
