    Watermark

    • Find a piece of fairy tale iconography you like and turn it into a watermark. This could be Aladdin's lamp, a castle, Cinderella's carriage, Beauty's rose, or simply a silhouette of a prince and princess dancing. Render the watermark in your wedding colors by editing an existing picture. If you can't find a suitable picture, you may want to hire a graphic designer. It will cost more, but it's better to spend more for professional-looking invitations than to be dissatisfied with the finished product.

    Stationery

    • Customize stamps and address labels so your guests immediately know what your theme is. A number of online print shops allow you to design your own postage stamps, but many people don't realize they have this option. Consider using your photo as the postage stamp and the watermark as the background for the address label. You may also customize envelopes and RSVP cards carrying the trademarks of your fairy-tale wedding invitations.

    Language

    • Invent royal or other titles for yourselves and for your parents if their names are to be included on the wedding invitations. If you aren't comfortable with printing an imaginary name, consider changing the wording of the invitation. "Formal attire" can be rephrased as "ball gowns," "reception" can be rephrased as "ball" and "ceremony" could be called a "coronation." You can also change the overall vernacular, opening with "hear ye, hear ye," "good morrow" and "thou art invited."
