Chris Rene - A True Inspiration!
I watched the X Factor tonight.
Not a real huge fan of much of anything on TV lately, but I still sat and watched it anyway.
The last audition was from a guy named Chris Rene.
He's a 28 year old garbage man.
He's grabbed his shovel and is trying to dig himself out of the mess he's created.
Chris is just out of rehab- 70 days clean.
He also just happens to have remarkable, raw and wonderful talent! That's his shovel.
His tool to keep moving forward.
I'm not even a fan of Hip Hop or R&B, but I am truly inspired by this guy.
I really want to see him succeed; in his new career, in his sobriety and with his son.
He just struck a nerve way down deep and I felt like writing about it here.
Before his audition he was asked what a $5 million dollar recording contract would mean to him, and his sincere and honest reply was, I think, refreshing: "It would mean the world...
it would mean stability for my son, my family.
I just got out of rehab actually.
" "The shame and the guilt just got to me.
There's always a chance, there's always a choice.
" After watching this guy I started to think about us; me, you...
all of us out here.
We're that guy.
We are Chris in one sense or another.
We've all got our vices, our situations, our problems.
We've all got hopes and dreams and aspirations.
We are garbage haulers, food servers, warehouse workers, truck drivers, computer technicians, stay at home moms, stay at home dads...
the list goes on and on.
You name it, we've either done it or are currently doing it.
We're unemployed, underemployed or hanging by a thread.
We're sick of being stomped on, lied to and used.
We quite simply have had it! So here we are with one common thread...
our desire to move up and move forward.
Each of us has grabbed our shovel and gone to work digging out of the mess we've somehow created for ourselves.
Be honest- if you loved your present situation, you wouldn't be here, shovel in hand, trying to dig out of your mess.
We write our articles, promote our affiliate programs and network with new people.
All with the hope to have a real online business that we can be proud of.
Anyhow, not sure where I wanted to go with this, except to say that I love to see average everyday people succeed.
Doesn't matter what kind of success it is.
I just dig seeing people who are down on their luck get up, dust off and grab hold of whatever success they're after.
It's truly a beautiful thing.
So, to whomever might be reading this - please, don't give up! For what it's worth, I sincerely hope you succeed.
