Can I trust you? As you look over at your best friend, you may be asking yourself that question.
Most of the time if you are thinking that to yourself already something is wrong.
There is a reason that you are wondering if you can trust them.
Have they shown in the past that they are untrustworthy? Have they shown that they really don't care about their word or promises? Have you seen them screw other people over? If you have, then most likely I would not trust this person fully at first.
Here's what you do: You've got to realize that people change and that they deserve chances.
Here's how you see if you can trust someone who says that they've changed.
Trust them with something small.
See if they can handle that.
for instance, lend them a buck and see if they return it to you on or before the time they said they would.
If they are late and you know it's because they didn't really care, don't lend them anymore money and you probably can't trust them.
If they bring it back to you early, then you can lend them a dollar again and see how they do with that.
Don't ever let the amount keep getting bigger, cause sometimes people will earn your trust and try to work you up to a big amount and then split.
No, instead, keep lending small amounts out, at your leisure, and see how they act.
Try this! Tell them a "secret" then see if they go tell other people, this is another way you can find out if you can trust this person or not.
Another way...
Let them hang around your significant other and see how they behave.
This is killing two birds with one stone.
Take action: How we can know if we can trust someone is by testing them will the various tests listed above.
There are many more but I provided some tried and true ways to see if someone can be trusted.
What it really all is about is giving them a chance.
You've got to give people the benefit of the doubt, and you'll be surprised who you can and cannot trust! If you are suffering from OCD, using these skills can help you choose the right friend to help you through your healing process.
