How to Remove Iron-On Glue From Leather
- 1). Place a towel over the area with the iron-on glue stuck to the leather.
- 2). Set the iron to a low or moderate setting. Place your iron over the area with the towel.
- 3). Press the iron lightly against the towel and the leather, heating the glue.
- 4). Remove the towel and wipe away the heated glue. Repeat until all the iron-on glue has been removed.
- 1). Rub the ice cube across the hard glue. Lowering the temperature of the glue may allow it to flake or break off.
- 2). Cut the frozen glue with your razor. Be careful not to damage the leather jacket. This is a good method if there is a lot of glue that is raised away from the jacket.
- 3). Repeat the process of freezing and cutting the glue until it is removed.
- 1). Pour a small amount of adhesive remover on the iron-on glue. Adhesive remover is a popular tool used by photographers and scrapbook collectors. The adhesive should be gentle enough to do the job without damaging the leather underneath.
- 2). Allow the adhesive remover to rest on the glue as per the instructions. Let it sit for a minute or two so it begins dissolving the glue.
- 3). Wipe away the glue with a damp cloth.
- 4). Repeat this process with the adhesive remover until the iron-on glue is completely removed from the leather.
