After Roman steps out, Rafe asks her what’s wrong. She moans how her kids are screwed up because she’s a screw-up, then reveals that she talked to Sister Theresa, who mentioned that Grace is sitting up by herself. Rafe tries to assure her that everything’s going to be okay. Roman reenters the room and sees the closeness between the two. He asks if Rafe finished the application, catching Sami off guard.
Rafe says not yet and Roman refers to Sami as a first class distraction. Bo and Hope arrive back and excitedly embrace Sami and Roman. Roman introduces Rafe to Bo and Hope. Sami expresses her confidence that Rafe will be working there soon, then leaves. Roman takes Bo into his office while Hope offers to show Rafe around the station once he’s done filling out his application.
Meanwhile, Roman shows Bo a report and is hoping for a connection between the hit man and Stefano. Bo wonders if Rafe is keeping something from them. Roman suspects that Rafe doesn’t always play by the rules. He believes they need to keep an eye on Rafe, predicting that he’s the kind of guy that can go too far. Bo appears unsettled to see Hope talking to Rafe, then has his same vision of her in bed with another man.
Roman later tells Bo that Rafe did good work and it’s because of him that Sami’s alive. He assumes that Bo doesn’t like him, but Bo reminds Roman that there’s no room for Rafe in the budget. Roman admits that he feels like he owes the guy.
“Fine. Get him a job. Just not here,” implores Bo.
Bo comes out of the office and Hope tells him that Rafe is a first baseman. Bo could care less and asks if he’s finished with the application. Rafe hands it over and offers to get him transcripts of his night classes. Bo says they’ll look over his application and will let him know if they need anything else.
After Rafe leaves, Hope admits that she likes Rafe and loves being able to take someone off of first base. Bo isn’t sure it will work out with Rafe. Hope then asks how he can be jealous of someone she doesn’t even know. A scowling Bo reenters the office and denies being jealous of Rafe. He admits that he had another vision. Hope apologizes and suggests they not talk about it. Roman soon informs Bo and Hope that he talked to a friend of his in New York about Rafe. Bo shuts the blinds and kisses Hope, welcoming her back.
DiMera Mansion
Nicole gets an unpleasant surprise when she opens the door to Dr. Baker. She questions what he’s doing there. “Well you know what they say. The truth will set you free,” he implies. They admit that they don’t like one another before she tells him to hit the road, affirming that she’s not scared of him. Dr. Baker reveals that he’s leaving town and had to shut down the clinic. “So does that mean the black market baby industry is ineligible for bailouts?” she jeers. He informs her that he has an offer in Detroit along with other offers. She sarcastically wishes him lots of luck, as she knows he’s not leaving town without attempting to hit her up for money. He waves to a smiling Sydney and requests an invitation to her wedding. She refers to him as crazy and refuses to allow him anywhere near her wedding. He says goodbye to Nicole and tells Sydney to have a great life, then leaves.
Back on the Pier
Nicole later takes Sydney for a stroll and encounters Lucas, mentioning a junior bridesmaid’s dress for Joy, Chloe’s sister. She notes that he looks like hell. Lucas doesn’t think that Joy will need a dress or he’ll need a tuxedo. Nicole questions what he did this time, but Lucas hasn’t a clue, sharing how Chloe wants to elope tonight. Nicole refers to Chloe as a little emotional these days. Lucas takes a peek at Sydney and notes that she looks exactly like Allie did at that age. Nicole gets huffy about this and then sees Sami, quipping how the good day has just gotten better. Sami’s in no mood for Nicole, who refers to her as pathetic trying for to cause trouble when E.J. was just trying to protect his son. Lucas mentions how Nicole has it all: “A beautiful baby, rich fiancé, and a bitchy attitude.”
After Lucas leaves, Nicole notes how at least one of Sami’s exes is on her side. Sami asks Nicole if she got E.J. to leave her alone. Nicole affirms to Sami that E.J.’s not interested in her and doesn’t want her involved in some new relationship “with the latest in a long line of losers.” Sami defends Rafe. Nicole insists that if Sami wants E.J. off her case, she’ll have to get used to living like a nun. Sami complains that it’s not fair and Nicole leaves.
Nicole later tells Sydney that Dr. Baker left and she has Sami back in her cage, beaming how her wedding is going to be perfect.
Cheatin’ Heart
Lucas arrives at the and sits at the bar, then receives a phone call, but doesn’t answer it. He looks at the booze and is tempted. Daniel walks in and sits beside him, wondering if he really wants to do the alcohol poisoning thing again. Lucas says he came there to think about Chloe.
Lucas confides in Daniel about how Chloe suddenly wants to elope. He thinks it’s a bad idea to elope if he doesn’t know why they’re doing it. He refers to it as the same scenario when Chloe decided to call off the engagement. Daniel suggests that he can help by telling Lucas the truth about Chloe. “Are you an expert on her?” questions Lucas. Daniel admits that he really got to know her when they were all worried about Kate. Lucas asks if Chloe confided in him. Daniel recalls how well Chloe handled herself through the ordeal with Kate. Lucas realizes that’s the point when he and Chloe had trouble communicating. He laments screwing up and wishes he knew why Chloe wanted to elope. Daniel recalls how Lucas recently mentioned that he and Chloe shouldn’t have secrets and believes it’s dead wrong.

Rafe is later outside the pub and receives a phone call with an offer to the anti-terror task force. He is surprised to hear that Roman Brady vouged for him. He says he can move to New York, since nothing’s keeping him there.
Rafe later encounters Sami on the pier, noting how upset she seems. She rushes into his arms and cries that she needs him.
