There have been many articles written and news events these days about your dog's future and their health, and how each and every one of us dog owners, can make a substantial difference in our dogs longevity, just by making a few simple intelligent decisions regarding our pets.
I myself have written many articles from Complimentary medicine, Training to Holistic diets.
And clearly, I realize that not everybody has the time to read articles that are thoroughly researched and explained information, which singles out a topic and delivers quality content in long form.
But it's hard to do when the author wants to assure themselves that the content of the article is complete and informational to the reader.
So I am going to try something new for me, and that is to write a few articles that are short and sweet and designed to make the reader respond instead of going to bed with it.

Rodenticides: 8000 Dogs and Cats die annually from the ingestion of rat and mouse poisons.
Many of the baits used to attract rodents contain inactive ingredients that are attractive to dogs and other animals as well.
The ingestion of these chemicals can lead to life-threatening problems for all animals, that would possibly include, bleeding, seizures and kidney damage.

Prescription Medication: the ASPCA Poison Control Center has handled over 50,000 calls relating to prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
Painkillers, cold medications, antidepressants and dietary supplements have been the leading ingested prescriptions to date.
Pets, whether Dogs or Cats, often snatch pill vials from counters and nightstands or gobble up medications accidentally dropped on the floor, so it's more than important that you make sure these medications are always placed where animals cannot reach them, and always make sure you haven't dropped any of these on the floor.

Chemicals: Consumption of chemicals is on the rise such as, ethylene glycol antifreeze, paint thinner, drain cleaners and pool & spa chemicals.
Substances in these particular groups of chemicals, can cause gastrointestinal upset, respiratory difficulties and chemical burns.

Human Foods: Turkey skin, Chocolate, Grapes, Onions, Nutmeg, Raw Garlic, Artificial Sweeteners like xylitol, Potatoes, Avocadoes, Fatty Foods, Yeast Dough, Salt, Coffee, Alcoholic Beverages, Nuts, especially Macadamia nuts because of their high phosphorus content is said to lead to bladder stones.
