How to Convert a Pulley Kite Bar
- 1). Remove the old pulley system. Most systems have a pulley set on a line attached through a hole in the middle of the kiteboarding control bar. Cut the line at the front of the pulley and pull the line through the hole, releasing the pulley. Remove any tape or foam around the center of the bar to clean it and get it ready for the new system.
- 2). Slide the red, left-side chicken-loop slider onto the left side of the bar. Slide the blue, right-side chicken-loop slider onto the right side of the control bar. The two colors are used to give a visual reference to the lines. Do not reverse the colors.
- 3). Thread a harness clip through the center hole on the control bar. Your clip may be a quick-clip, dummy-clip or webbing-slide style.
- 4). Run the red, left-side lines down from the kite and loop them through the chicken-loop sliders on the red, left side of the bar. Do the same for the blue, right-side lines on the blue, right-side chicken-loop sliders.
- 5). Attach the harness clip to the body harness when you are ready to kiteboard.
