- 1). Insert the Windows CD into the CD drive.
- 2). Restart the computer.
- 3). Push any key to boot from the Windows CD.
- 4). Press "Enter" to begin the repair.
- 5). Press "F8" to agree to Microsoft's licensing terms.
- 6). Highlight the drive upon which Windows XP is installed and press "R" to repair the file recovery tools in the operating system.
