Babies don't have a set list of instructions that come along with them that teaches parents how to cope with the various means of handling their needs.
Parents are left to struggle on their own with only the aid of the lessons learned from their own upbringing.
This is combined with the advice of family and strangers that often comes with caveats and conflicting messages.
There are a few items of undisputed advice, though.
Number one among those is the notion of modeling good behavior.
If you want your child to behave well, then you have to show them how to behave through your own behavior.
Clearly it is one thing to tell your child how to behave, but quite another to actually commit to the behavior yourself.
It's too bad that some parents think they are above their own laws, when that is the best way to teach a youngster.
Parents who do not adhere to the rule of modeling send mixed messages to their young children.
They tell them on one hand that something is wrong, while showing them that it is right.
Kids learn everything from their own experiences of the world around them.
Therefore solid examples are a thousand times better than the spoken lesson.
Altering your own behavior patterns may be difficult at first.
But if you keep at it, you will find that it becomes second nature in almost no time at.
Like any habit in life, it just takes time to adjust to it.
In the end, you will realize that it is actually easier than wrestling with your child.
You will really discover how proud you can be, not only of your child's behavior, but also of your own capacity for teaching.
you will beam as your child learns to say please and thank you and to use the appropriate tone of voice in any given situation.
