Cleaning an Amana Smoothtop Stove and Oven
- 1). Turn off the oven and stove and wait for the Amana oven to cool completely before you begin cleaning.
- 2). Wipe spills away from the cooking surface with a paper towel dampened in clean water. If the paper towel is not effective, use a soft cloth and soapy water on porcelain-enamel Smoothtops. Amana recommends using only product called Cooktop Cleaner and a soft cloth to clean glass-ceramic smooth tops.
- 3). Pull the control knobs towards you to remove them from the oven. Wash the knobs with warm water and a mild dish soap, rinse and dry them before returning them to the oven.
- 4). Spray glass cleaner onto a soft cloth. Wipe the window on the oven door and the clock and control pad on the oven with this cloth.
- 5). Remove the oven racks and broiler pan from the inside of the Amana oven. Scrub these pans with hot, soapy water and a soap-filled scouring pad if necessary to remove burnt-on food or grease. Rinse the racks and dry them but do not return them to the oven.
- 6). Open the oven and wipe the interior with a rag dampened in hot, soapy water to remove any obvious food spills. Wipe the inside of the oven door and the door gasket clean as well. Rinse the rag as necessary during cleaning.
- 7). Close the oven door and turn off the oven light.
- 8). Press the "Clean" button on the oven's control panel. Press the "Autoset" button to scroll through the different self-clean settings to choose light, medium or heavy cleaning. The cycle will begin and the oven door will lock four seconds after you have selected a setting.
- 9). Wait until the self-clean cycle is finished and the oven has cooled for at least one hour. The oven door will unlock when the oven is cool.

Open the oven door and wipe away any ash created during the self-clean cycle with a damp rag. Return the clean oven racks and broiler pan to the oven.
