    Making a Child's Raccoon Costume

    • 1). Put the black cat costume on your child. Remember to put on the cat ears.

    • 2). Using white, gray, and black acrylic paint, fleck the cat costume so that it looks like ticked raccoon fur. An easy way to do this is to cover your child's face and hair and put a little paint on the brush. Flick the brush toward the costume evenly with each color until you have a ticked raccoon coat. Leave the ears black.

    • 3). Cut the tail off the Daniel Boone hat and attach it to your child's backside with a safety pin.

    • 4). Put on the black gloves. Raccoons have little black hands.

    • 5). Look at your picture of a raccoon and use it as a guide to painting you child's face like a raccoon. Paint around her eyes black, leading down the side of her cheeks. Paint her nose and forehead black. Paint a white stripe over her eyebrows and paint white on her lower cheeks. You can add whiskers if you like.
