      takeown /f "C:\Windows\System32\recdisc.exe

Press "Enter." A "Completed successfully" message will appear. In the same command window, type the following:

      icacls "C:\Windows\System32\recdisc.exe" /grant (user name):F

    • 3). Right-click on the recdisc.exe on the desktop and click copy. Navigate to "C:\Windows\System32\recdisc.exe" and, in the empty area of the window, right-click and select "Paste" from the pop-up menu. When prompted, click on "Copy and Replace" and "Continue." Right-click and select "Send To" and "Desktop (create shortcut)."

    • 4). Double-click the recdisc.exe shortcut. When prompted, select the DVD-RW drive and "Create Disc." A window will pop up asking for the Windows Installation disc. Insert the disc and click "Continue." When the recovery image is complete, a pop-up will prompt for the insertion of a blank DVD. The image will be burned to the blank DVD, and the recovery disc will be completed.
