How To Look More Vibrant And Fresh After 50

After 50, a heavy makeup will make you look tired, even exhausted, instead of giving you a fresh and vibrant appearance.
Don't turn your makeup into a fatigue factor! Here are some age appropriate tips on how to use the makeup to enhance your natural beauty.
The first step in any makeup is applying the foundation.
Women over 50 need to use a very light foundation with the same color as their natural skin tone.
It is recommended to use primers before foundation, as primers smooth over wrinkles and tighten the skin.
Heavy eyeliner is not elegant and very outdated.
Use eyeliner only on the top lashes; using it on the lower lash line will accentuate dark under eyes circles.
Black eyeliner looks harsh.
Change your eyeliner color, turning to brown, gray or plum, that will blend beautifully with any eyeshadow colors.
Hard tip eyeliner doesn't work on soft, aging eyelids.
Start using a soft pencil that will stay put until you wash it off.
You can also use a gel liner.
Avoid smokey eyes make up.
It will make you look more burned out than beautiful.
Use an eye brightener or highlighter to help balance out dark eye makeup.
Use it in the inner corner of the eye and under the brow.
Also, before applying eyeshadow, use an eyelid primer that will boost the eyeshadow endurance and smooth the fine lines.
For under eye circles, find a wearable concealer, to help mask those dark shadows around the eyes.
Using the right color concealer will make the whole eye area look refreshed.
Never forget your brows! Nothing ages a face more than non existent brows.
Shade your brows by using a sharp pencil and draw thin strokes, to look more natural.
Use gray or brown, it will match most hair colors.
Always use mascara, at least one coat.
Be aware that heavy mascara causes spider legs lashes.
After your last coat of mascara, wipe your mascara wand on a piece of tissue, then drag the clean bristles through your lashes.
This way the clumps will separate.
Consider buying a set of false lashes too.
They add instant dramatic glamor without any clumping and smudging.
Use small strips just at the outer top corners and top with one coat of mascara to help them blend with the rest of your natural lashes.
Lip color is a must for every woman.
After a certain age, the regular lipstick will settle into the little wrinkles around the mouth.
Replace lipstick with a lip stain, then top the lip stain with lip balm.
The stain will stay put for a long time, but it can feel dry on the lips, that is why you need to use the lip balm, to moisturize the lips.
Never use a lip liner, it is old fashioned and very unflattering.
After eyes, brows and lips make up, it's time for the blush.
Use discreet blush and don't create high contoured cheekbones.
Make it as natural as possible, like you are really blushing.
A natural looking blush will instantly make you look younger and fresher.
Don't use dark colors.
If your skin is light, choose a pink blush, if your skin is dark, use an orange blush.
Try to match your blush with the lip color tone, it will make a big difference in the overall look of your face.
Finish your makeup routine with a light reflecting loose powder applied with a brush.
