How to Find Out What Tier of Unemployment Benefits I'm on
- 1). Check your weekly claim form if one is available. Find the year-to-date unemployment insurance compensation paid on the claim up to the ending date of the week you claimed, as well as the tier of federal extension for the claim at the top of the claim form.
- 2). Check the number of weeks you're scheduled to receive additional unemployment benefits. For example, if you receive up to 20 additional weeks of unemployment benefits, you may be on Tier 1. If you receive up to 14 additional weeks, you may be on Tier 2. If you receive up to 13 additional weeks, you may be on Tier 3. If you receive up to six additional weeks, you may be on Tier 4.
- 3). Contact your state's Department of Labor or Employment Development Department. Only your state's DOL or EDD can answer questions regarding the status of an unemployment claim, including the tier of unemployment benefits you're currently receiving. Submit your question in person or by telephone, mail or e-mail.
- 4). Provide as much information as possible. Provide your full legal name exactly as it appears on your weekly claim form, including your Social Security number, mailing address and date of birth.
