How to Make an Over-Door Hook
- 1). Place a blank wooden door hook on a sheet of newspaper, which will protect your work area from accidental paint spills.
- 2). Paint the front of the hook using acrylic paint. You can apply a solid color over the entire hook, or you can paint designs and patterns using different colors. Allow the paint to dry for 30 minutes, then turn over the hook to repeat the process on the other side. Allow the paint to dry for an additional 30 minutes.
- 3). Write wording on the front of the wooden hook using squeezable paint. Allow the wording to dry for 30 minutes.
- 4). Squeeze glitter glue onto the hook to add more details, such as swirls, spirals or dots. Allow the glitter glue to dry for 30 minutes.
- 5). Coat the hook with clear acrylic glaze, then allow it to dry for another 30 minutes. This will protect the paint and glitter glue from peeling or chipping.
