Bride"s Emergency Bag: What"s the Big Deal?

103 6
Your big day is finally here and you've arrived at the wedding venue.
As you begin to freshen up your face in front of a mirror at a dressing table, you catch yourself staring at your reflection.
Your mind starts to wander back to the beginning of your wedding planning, recalling all the preparation it has taken to get you to this point, and your eyes begin to fill with tears.
The emotions that rise up within us on our wedding day can be uncontrollable--some brides may become an emotional mess, be cranky or snappy or weep a lot.
You reach for some tissue to wipe your face, but there's none to be found.
So with the back of your hand you begin to wipe away the tears that are ruining your mascara and creating little rivers of streaked make-up running down your cheeks, smearing everything in its path, and eventually maybe landing on your beautiful gown.
You frantically begin tossing things around looking for anything that will clean up your messy face to restore that beautiful glow that was there only moments ago and dry up those wet make-up spots that have landed on your dress.
Now you're starting to feel out of control and begin snapping at your bridesmaids for their help, who are, themselves, busy finalizing the finishing touches on their prep--they bring you old shriveled-up tissue they found in the bottom of their purses, or worse yet, toilet paper! Is this how you visualized your wedding day? All those months of planning for this perfect day and you didn't prepare for any emergencies in the final hour before you walked down the aisle.
I think you realize now that this is where the "big deal" comes in.
Planning for unexpected emergencies HAS to be on your check-off list.
It's inevitable that a mishap will occur, so be prepared! Searching bridal accessories online will result in many sites providing those lists of wedding day essentials that are needed in assembling your bride's emergency bag.
May I also strongly suggest that you place all these items in a nice, sturdy case instead of throwing everything into a big, ugly grocery bag.
There are a couple of reasons for this: 1) grocery bags can split and lose items out the bottom, and they just are not classy; 2) a nice, sturdy case can keep all those items neat, organized and handy at a moment's notice; 3) a grocery bag doesn't close tightly; 4) the nice, sturdy case will close up tight and keep your beautiful things clean, like your special hanky, garter, handwritten vows, make-up, etc.
So on your wedding day, which image is the one you want to portray--the frazzled bride who looks a mess and upset walking down the aisle, or the smart bride who planned ahead who makes her groom beam with pride because he only sees the most beautiful perfect bride ever walking towards him? Now that's a "big deal"!!
