Under this law collectors or companies should not do the following activities:
  1. Any wrong behavior or use any bad language with you.
  2. The will not mentally harass you calling frequently.
  3. They are prohibited to call others except you and not to threat you or mentioned you as a criminal.
  4. The threat to harm you, your property, reputation.
  5. Expose your name to others to hamper your prestige.
  6. Coerce you to pay for debt.
Anyway, any kind of activity done by companies or collectors mentioned above equals to violate the FDCPA Act.
For violating the law, you can sue them and it is free of cost and you may recover up to $1,000 in statutory damages and attorney's fees if necessary.
For this you first have to meet with an attorney to consult and then you can sue them for damages.
IF you win you can get it.
But you must pay actually if you owed to them.
So if you get repeated calls, do not feel disturbed and take it as a blessing to have $1000 from them.
Know you are furnished with knowledge of FDCPA.
First simply tell them that you are well aware about FDCPA and request them not to disturb you.
If it does not work use your knowledge.
Go to an attorney and contact the one who deals in Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) cases.
The attorney will likely be able to settle the case with the debt collection agency.
Even if it is necessary to litigate with companies attorney will not charge a cent from you since he will get his attorneys fees from the sued company.
Now it is clear that FDCPA is only for consumers benefit.
It is like a power with you.
