Panic attacks cause a lot of pain and angst for millions of people all over the world.
Overcoming panic attacks is important with regards to social development for individuals.
Many people are prescribed to medications which can have an adverse effect on the overall mental well-being of the individual.
These medications are usually not necessary, because there are many techniques that can be used to avoid panic attacks.
The first panic attack can be a very memorable situation for a person and I do not mean memorable in a good way.
Often times the events leading up to the panic attack are recalled, reminding the person that they had a panic attack.
When someone realizes the events that are occurring are similar to the situation when they had their first panic attack, this can trigger an attack itself.
Learning how to react to these circumstances is a key point when it comes to overcoming panic attacks.
The fear of having a panic attack is a very real fear.
This fear alone is what leads to the majority of panic attacks.
There are many times when a person goes their entire life without having a panic attack.
Then right after having their first attack, they have a string of many more attacks.
Why do you think they happen in a row, one after another? Is it possible that there is some type of disease that was contracted and led to a series of panic attacks? No, that is not the answer.
It is the fear of the previous attack that is the reason for almost all panic attacks that occur after the first one.
Let me give you an example.
In college, I was able to give oral presentations without any problem.
Sure, for the first few I gave, I was extra nervous.
This is normal, however.
Then I went into a presentation very unprepared.
It was a group presentation and I was unable to make it to the group meeting to prepare.
When it came my turn to speak, disaster struck.
I became unsure of what to say, my chest began getting tight and it was difficult to breathe.
All I could do was fumble through my index cards, unable to speak.
The best I could do was make a hand signal to one of the members of our group for him to take over for me.
It was a highly embarrassing situation After that, on every single presentation I made, I experienced a panic attack.
Some worse than others.
This is why you must take care of your attacks.
Overcoming panic attacks is an extremely important step to take for anyone who suffers from these dreadful experiences.
