Video: Is There a Way to View What Time You Turned Off the Computer?
Video Transcript
Hi, my name is Luke and this is, is there a way to tell what time you turned off your computer? In Windows 7 there are event logs. Almost everything you do with your system gets logged. If you like to see an event log of when your system was turned off what you can do is start by going to the start bar at the bottom. Type in events. You should see it under control panel view event logs is the first thing that comes up. Left click it. Here under Windows logs select the drop down arrow to the left. Click on system and a system event log will begin to display. Right click system and hit filter current logs. Under event sources you are going to want to choose User 32. Check the check box next to User 32 and where it says all event IDs type in 1074. This is the event ID for a proper shutdown by the user. Click ok and give it a minute to generate the logs. Here you can see the date and time of all the shutdowns done by the current user. And that's it.
