    • 1). Unfold the legs of an ironing board and place the board in an easy-to-access space.

    • 2). Plug in the iron and set it on a medium-high heat setting. Allow the iron to heat to the proper operating temperature.

    • 3). Lay your jersey on the ironing board with the front panel facing down. Smooth the jersey flat with the palm of your hand.

    • 4). Measure two inches from the bottom of the neckline toward the bottom of the shirt. Tear off a piece of masking tape which spans the width of the jersey. Place the piece of tape horizontally directly under the two-inch measurement.

    • 5). Measure three inches from the bottom of the piece of tape toward the bottom of the shirt. Tear off a piece of masking tape which spans the width of the jersey. Place the piece of tape horizontally directly under the three-inch measurement.

    • 6). Place the letters between the two pieces of masking tape. Use the ruler to ensure that there is one inch between each letter and the same amount of space on the right and left margins of the jersey. Pin the letters into place with sewing pins.

    • 7). Lay a cotton towel over the letters and jersey. Flatten the towel with the palm of your hand.

    • 8). Apply the iron to the towel in the area where the letters are attached. Use horizontal sweeping motions to heat the towel and adhere the underlying letters. Do not leave the iron in one place to avoid burning or melting of the jersey. Remove the towel and check whether the letters are adhered properly. Reapply towel and continue ironing until firmly adhered.

    • 9). Remove sewing pins.
