Following Jesus Bulletin Board Ideas
- Bulletin boards are a creative way to both display children's work and to reflect the classroom's values or theme. Sunday school and VBS classrooms can also use bulletin boards to help explain concepts in a way that children understand. Bulletin boards about following Jesus might use familiar scenes and simple images to give children a meaningful way to understand what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

Create a school of fish swimming along in the ocean. Fish shapes decorated by children can be arranged in a school formation, led by a larger fish shape that represents Jesus. Sand, seashells, seaweed and other details can be included to add detail to the ocean background. The bulletin board's caption might read "Swimming After the Savior." - Flock of sheepspring lambs image by Edsweb from Fotolia.com

Create a peaceful scene of ducklings in a pond. Children can decorate small duck shapes that are positioned in a row behind a larger duck that represents Jesus. Water lilies, cattails, grass or other details can be added to enhance the pond scene. A saying on the bulletin board might read, "Like ducks in a row, where He leads, we will go." - Footstepsbaby feet image by photazz from Fotolia.com
Create a bright assortment of children's footprints using paint or construction paper. A white or other solid color background will make the color of the footprints pop. Jesus' footprints are not shown on this bulletin board display, representing the belief that He has gone on to heaven. A title for this bulletin board might read, "Following in His Footsteps." - Magnifying glassmagnifying glass image by Yuriy Mazur from Fotolia.com
Create an interactive scavenger hunt bulletin board. Children can find Bible verses that are "clues" on how to follow Jesus. As each clue is found, post it on the bulletin board along with shapes of notebooks and magnifying glasses. Alternatively, names of children who were "spied" using the clues to follow Jesus could be listed underneath each clue.
