No they do not.
If they were they would not be the most popular dog in the US registering twice as many dogs as the second most popular dog.
And this is a world wide phenomenon and not just restricted to one or two countries.
Labs are popular all over the world; period.
If you are not interested in statistics, then there are a number of reasons why keeping Labs is very easy.
They are very gentle dogs and are very affectionate with everyone in the family, especially children.
You don't have to worry about the dog becoming jealous of your child and deliberately knocking them down.
Labs are very careful with kids and are very tolerant and patient with them.
It is a very rare dog that will sit quietly when the child climbs over them and pulls out their hair or screws their ears.
Labs also make great companions and are very sensitive to your moods.
They are almost never moody or depressed but if you are not feeling good, they are quick to sense it and offer comfort.
This can take any form from jumping around and playing with you to just sitting beside you depending on the dog.
Labradors are absolutely safe and are not a danger to anyone.
They are the opposite of aggressive and you will have to search really hard to find one.
If you do it means that the dog is being abused very badly and you should probably report it.
In most other cases Labs will take to strangers almost as well as they will the family and you don't need a leash when you are taking them out for a run.
They are intelligent dogs and as long as you have acclimatized them to traffic they will be very responsible on the road and not go dashing off.
Labradors are also very convenient and have a cast iron digestive system.
They can eat anything and digest it and are a very good waste disposal system in your home.
In fact giving your lab normal food is better than giving it dog food because it tends to lessen the shedding.
In fact giving them fresh meant is a good idea because dogs fed on fresh food very rarely get bloat, a fatal gastric problem that affects most large dogs.
Although not proved, eating dried food has been linked to this problem so why take a risk.
