How to Install Under the Counter Puck Lights
- 1). Mark the sides of the cabinets under the bottom shelf about 1 inch behind the cabinet fronts. Measure the distance between the bottom shelf and the bottom edge of the cabinet side and mark the center point on the 1-inch mark.
- 2). Drill a hole on the mark with a 3/8-inch drill bit. This is to accommodate the wires so they can travel from light to light while hiding them at the same time. Once drilled, run a piece of 100-grit sandpaper around the inside of the holes to clean burrs and splinters away.
- 3). Determine the location for the installation of the lights. If the cabinet has two doors, center the light with the cabinet. If the cabinet has only one door, center the light with the door. Secure the lights to the bottom of the bottom shelf with 3/8-inch wood screws or those that came with the lights.
- 4). Feed the wire through the holes in the cabinets. Connect the wires to each light as the manufacturer instructs. Staple the wires in the corner where the front meets the shelf with the appropriate staples.
- 5). Secure the transformer to the bottom of the cabinet closest to the receptacle used to connect the puck lights to the electricity with 3/8-inch wood screws or those provided with the light set. Connect the wires to the transformer and plug it in.
