Blood building diet
- Legumes
Eating legumes is very healthy. These are rich in protein, fiber and vitamins. Beans and legumes also help digest and eliminate LDL (Low density lipoproteins; (dangerous fat)) which will lead to better pumping of the blood and hence better oxidization.
- Iron
Iron forms the nuclei of the hemoglobin molecules. Hence it is very important for strong blood. Many pre-menopausal women need much iron in order to build good hemoglobin which can be acquired using iron supplements. Good iron sources include, fish, apples, lentils, kidney, beans, green vegetables, bison, beef and many more. However, iron intake should be only as advised by the dietician as too much supplements can lead to a reaction.
- Vitamin B Supplements
The human body needs vitamins B-complex and folate in order to lower the homocysteine in the blood. This element has been linked to clogged  arteries and veins leading to dangerous cardiac conditions.
- Eat proper fruits and vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are full of healthy and useful nutrients. These consist of vitamins which also help in reducing the plaque in the vessels and building new blood cells. The green vegetables in particular have much chlorophyll. Intake of chlorophyll with sufficient iron would help boost blood production as well.
- Anti-Oxidants
All anti-oxidants have a quality to purify blood. Green tea, cayenne, apples and other anti-oxidant rich food are all helpful in cleansing the blood and therefore leading to a better cardiovascular system. Similarly, Aloe-Vera juice has also been reported to be very effective at this. It does not only have blood cleansing properties, but it is also anti-inflammatory (good against GERD) and has much nutrition including essential amino acids, enzymes, chlorophyll, minerals and vitamins.
- Dandelion and Sarsaparilla Roots
The dandelion root has shown to improve the liver function by purifying the blood. This doesn't allow you to pick up a root from the roadside and have a go at it. Rather the root can be cooked and eaten in stews and soups. It can also be boiled in water and used as tea.
At the same time, the sarsaparilla root, which is also the oldest ingredient used to flavor the root beer, is shown to have anti-microbial properties. When in the bloodstream, it can neutralize microbial substances. It also acts as an antibiotic and can be consumed in similar forms as the dandelion root.
These food items are specially recommended for heart patients who require much blood cleansing and rejuvenation.
