How to Re-Oil a Hydraulic Jack
- 1). Pull out the magnetic tool tray at the base of the jack near the handle. The tray can be removed by hand to access the oil fill plug.
- 2). Open the jack's release valve by turning the jack handle to the left. The handle is attached to the release valve. The release valve is turned to the right via the handle to lift the jack up and turned to the left to release or lower the jack. Remove the oil fill plug by turning it to the left with a wrench if it cannot be removed by hand.
- 3). Tilt the jack over on its right side by hand and allow the old oil to drain into a plastic drip pan. Empty the old oil out of the jack completely and then set the jack right side up.
- 4). Open the container of hydraulic chamber and then pour it into the fill hole. Pour the liquid until it is full of hydraulic fluid. Twist the fill cap back onto the jack by turning it to the right with a wrench after the jack is filled with oil. Set the magnetic tool tray back in place over the oil fill cap by hand.
