iPad Mini 2 Details and Features
The iPad Mini 2 is the second generation of Apple's 7.9-inch tablet. Â Announced alongside the iPad Air, the iPad Mini 2 not only includes a "Retina Display" matching the resolution of the 9.7-inch Air, it is also powered by the 64-bit A7 system-on-a-chip. Â
In addition to the better display and faster processor, the Mini 2 gains support for Wi-Fi MIMO. Â This means multiple antennas can be used to increase the bandwidth, which translates to faster Internet speeds and quicker transfers when using AirDrop.
Apple also announced that all new iPads would receive a free copy of iWork (Pages, Numbers and Keynote) and iLife (iPhoto, iMovie and Garage Band). Â

iPad Mini 2: Worth the Upgrade?
The iPad Air moves the iPad lineup to 64-bit architecture, which will make way for more powerful applications capable of competing with their desktop counterparts.
But the move to the 64-bit architecture won't happen overnight.  Owners of the most recent full-sized iPads, the iPad 3 and iPad 4, may want to wait until the next generation arrives. Â
