Cobb Portable Grill - Have You Got the Chops?
The only question that remains: do you have the chops to own one? The lamb chops that is! I love lamb...
virtually any kind of lamb, from roasted leg of lamb to lamb kabobs and everything in between.
The problem is, lamb has always baffled me.
Grilling it I mean.
It seems that no matter what I tried, my lamb always came out undercooked or overcooked, dry or too rare.
Not anymore.
I've discovered the Cobb Portable Grill.
The Cobb Portable Grill offers me a complete cooking system that seems perfectly suited for lamb, especially roast lamb, but all sorts of lamb really.
My very first attempt at roast lamb on the Cobb Portable Grill was a complete and unqualified success.
I received rave reviews from my dinner guests, and I can't remember when I've enjoyed lamb more.
Let me tell you why the Cobb Portable Grill is so accomplished at cooking lamb (or absolutely anything else for that matter).
On one hand, the Cobb Portable Grill is the single most efficient grill I've had the pleasure to use.
It will burn a full two-and-a-half to three hours on just a handful of charcoal briquettes- 8-10 to be exact.
Try that with your Weber Smokey Joe, or any other charcoal grill for that matter.
I simply place a solid firestarter in the bottom of my Cobb, place 8 briquettes in the fire basket, light it up, and the Cobb is ready to cook inside of five minutes.
Unbelievable, but completely true! The next step is equally astounding...
I put my roast on the Cobb and, get this, leave it alone for two and a half to three hours! Oh, I may turn it once or twice, but that's it.
I let the Cobb Portable Grill do the work for me, and it does it beautifully.
I normally don't need to add any more charcoal or, if I do, it's only another briquette or two.
How's that for efficient and utterly simple? When I take my roast lamb off my Cobb, a hush falls over the crowd (assuming I've invited a crowd), and we all stare for a moment at what beauty the Cobb Portable Grill has wrought.
The lamb looks like it was prepared by a phalanx of professional grillmasters, with a crunchy, crusty exterior, and a perfectly pink center, along with some in between doneness for those who like it that way.
Perfection! Did I mention that the Cobb has what's called a flavor well - or moat - surrounding the fire basket? All you need to do before you start cooking is add your favorite cooking liquid to the well - wine, beer, what have you.
As the juices drip off your lamb roast, they collect in the moat, and the steam rises and fills the cooking chamber.
The flavor this imparts to your meat is indescribable in the English language...
bravissimo! comes to mind! I could go on all day about the Cobb Portable Grill.
I could tell you that it's made of durable stainless steel, aluminum, and teflon so it cleans up easily, and lasts and lasts.
I could tell you that it weighs under ten pounds and fits in about a square foot of space, making it ultra light and portable.
I could tell you that...
But I won't.
I'll just tell you to check out the Cobb Portable Grill and seriously consider getting one of your very own.
