How to Draw an Avalanche Truck

    • 1). Draw a rectangle on your paper with a pencil. Since this basic shape serves as the truck's body, size the rectangle according to how large or small you want your final art to be. Use the ruler to help you create straight edges. Slide the ruler down from the top of the rectangle to about a quarter length away from the top line. Draw a horizontal line.

    • 2). Turn the ruler 45 degrees. Draw a line that angles from the top left of your paper to the lower right. Make the line about a quarter of the way into the rectangle from the right, in between the top rectangle line and horizontal line beneath it. Erase the horizontal line to the left of the 45-degree angled line. You now have the truck's body and the beginning of the truck's rear.

    • 3). Erase the top left angle of the rectangle and replace it with a smooth line that contours from the top to the front left. This is the hood. Erase two small sections of the rectangle's bottom line to make wheel wells, then draw circles in each well to create the wheels. Draw a square in the center of the truck's body (remember to follow the contour of the front end windshield), then draw a vertical line separating the square into two halves to make the driver's and passenger's doors.

    • 4). Add in the details: draw door handles on the doors, front and rear bumpers, head- and taillights, rims and the Chevy Avalanche logo in the front middle of the driver's side door. Draw a small angled oval near the 45-degree angled line on the truck's rear to make the detail of the roll bar/truck liner.

    • 5). Trace your drawing in black ink to make your art stand out on the page.
