Tying the knot abroad in an exotic destination is all the rage these days and couples from all over the world are booking their nuptials away from home.

The Caribbean is one of the most popular choices for destination weddings and it's not hard to understand why with its array of idyllic islands, lush forests, tropical weather, white sand beaches and luxury hotels and resorts.

There are a selection of settings for Caribbean weddings that couples can select from, whether it is a romantic ceremony on a soft sandy beach at sunset, nuptials onboard a luxury yacht against the backdrop of the sparkling turquoise Caribbean Sea, or exchanging vows underwater while scuba diving.

Prestige Caribbean offers a wide range of packages for island weddings and when couples book a stay between seven and ten nights at participating resorts, they can enjoy the luxury of a free wedding.

Couples can choose from a range of free wedding packages that include the help of professional wedding planners, plus a decorated setting or venue, the marriage license and certificate, fees for minister, bridal bouquet and grooms boutonnire, a bottle of Champagne, wedding cake, and a romantic dinner for two.

Brides and grooms-to-be can choose from Barbados weddings at luxury resorts including Cobblers Cove, Tamarind Cove and The House, or a wedding in St Lucia at the cliff-top Cap Maison hotel or the luxury East Winds Inn.

Destination weddings are on the rise among UK couples and the Mintel Group, a UK-based market research company, has revealed that more than 18 per cent of weddings for UK couples now take place overseas.

The advantages to having a wedding abroad include more reliable warm and sunny weather; a wide choice of destinations across the world; less organisation and smaller guest lists; lower costs; and the chance to combine the special day with an exotic honeymoon.

The average cost of a UK wedding is nearly 20,000, while the estimated cost of a wedding in the Caribbean is approximately a third of this, at just 6585.

With so many islands on offer, the biggest decision couples will have to make is whether to get married in Barbados, Antigua, St Lucia, Bermuda, Grenada, Dominican Republic, St Kitts & Nevis, Turks and Caicos or Jamaica.
