Jujube Propagation
- Jujube trees are typically created through grafting onto a thorny rootstalk. A whip graft is typically used to attach the desired cultivar to the available rootstock.
- Jujube trees may also be propagated through hard or soft wood cuttings, though Texas A&M University Extension cautions that success is limited with this method. Jujubes may also be grown from seed, but the variety does not breed true.
- When propagating jujube trees, space them between 10 and 15 feet apart, in full sun. While jujubes will produce fruit through self-pollination, these fruits are not fertile.
