According to tradition, a best man – usually a brother, a relative, or the best friend of the groom – must be chosen for a wedding. This person, whoever he is, must carry out certain tasks and responsibilities along with his name. Among these tasks is delivering a wedding speech during the reception. Here, now, are sample best man speech closing remarks.

Begin your speech with something along these lines: "A pleasant evening, ladies and gentlemen! I stand here and I see the look on your faces – most of you, if not all, are wondering who I am and what I am doing here. To introduce myself then, I am the groom's best pal and best man. I stand here today, on behalf of the bride and the groom, to welcome you all in this celebration and to thank you for finding the time to be here. It is truly heart-warming and touching to see so many people who are important to the bride and the groom gathered here tonight."

It is important to note that the introductory part of your speech should be as interesting and as catchy as possible. After introducing yourself and expressing your gratitude to the guests, you may proceed with: "They say that weddings bring families and friends together. It is true. Today, we are gathered here to celebrate a single occasion – the wedding of the bride and the groom, who I must say, deserve each other perfectly. Ladies and gents, I have seen this lovely couple struggle and survive. I have witnessed the strength and depth of their love."

"And so, to the bride and the groom, who also happens to be my best friend ever since we were little kids, congratulations! I may never have told you this before but I have been rooting for you ever since you started out as a couple. I know that your love will make it through anything. Your love for each other is just so true that I know it can withstand and surpass any trials that may come your way. To all the wedding guests, I believe in the bride and the groom. I believe in their love, and you should too."

"As a final note, ladies and gentlemen, I ask you all to raise your glasses to the bride and groom. May their love endure all hardships, and may it strengthen and deepen with the test of time."
