Frameless Glass Curtains

The newest invention to the patio door product range is the frameless glass door. Starting as a simple clear glass room divider the frameless glass door is capable of sectioning rooms by using 10mm toughened panes of glass which are fully retractable so offer the practicality of bi-folding or sliding doors.

Several years ago the market was flooded with companies offering frameless glass partitions. What's the difference between those and the frameless glass door? Well the difference is that the common glass partition can not be fully opened. The frameless glass door has both the aesthetically pleasing looks of a typical glass partition but also has the added practicality of being fully retractable.

In order to be used as a frameless patio door this system had to be altered. So that it would meet building regulations, weathering tests and U-values. For this to happen a double glazed system had to be created.

As you see in the above picture it is possible for the frameless glass door or glass curtain to be used externally even when single glazed. However, not in the UK because building regulations state that it is necessary for external bi-folding doors to meet a minimum requirement of being double glazed. The above picture is a single glazed system which has been installed in the Mediterranean on a balcony.

Still currently in development, the double glazed frameless glass door will be unveiled and ready for production early in April. For further information please visit sunseekerdoors new website which is dedicated to this new product range at www.framelessglassdoorsuk.co.uk
