How to Blend Kettles
- 1). Utilize the top of your cabinets, by installing uplighting and placing your favorite pieces, every six inches, along the top. This space is seldom used, and displaying your kettles adds needed interest and allows you to showcase them with ease. Carry the kettle decor down, by purchasing kettle-themed wallpaper borders, dish towels and pot holders, as well as kettle-inspired wall art.
- 2). Place a floral display inside a colorful, ceramic or shiny, copper kettle, and place it on your dining room table as a centerpiece. Find kettle-themed fabric and create placemats, to tie the decor together. Again, add kettle-inspired wall art. For a real conversation piece, add a Turkish kettle, featuring a smaller kettle sitting atop a larger one. Place flowers coming out of the spouts of both pots, as well as out of lid of the top kettle. These rare kettles are sure to inspire conversation.
- 3). Create a small cafe-inspired area in your bedroom, featuring your favorite electric kettle. Electric kettles are great for areas outside the kitchen, as they do not require a stove or microwave to heat water. Place your kettle on top of a heat-resistant surface on a small bistro-styled table. Place tea bags and sugar packets inside a Tea for One kettle, and lay it next to the electric kettle. Keep your favorite mug on the other side of the large kettle. Place a bistro-chair nearby, and lay your laptop or a good book on the table for those moments when you need to take a break and want a cup of tea. Complete the bistro/kettle theme by purchasing a back-lit dry erase board on which to write faux drinks of the day, as if your bedroom really were a small bistro cafe. String tea bags together, one under the other, to create a unique, scented curtain, and place this in your window. Search the internet for kettle- and tea-inspired bedding. Take an unusable kettle and drill out a hole at the bottom to insert a lamp base kit. These can be purchased at any craft or home improvement store. Place a bulb and lamp shade atop the kettle for an original kettle lamp.
- 4). Take a few of the Tea for One kettles, or tiny kettles that are split in half, in which the top portion contains hot water, while the bottom half detaches to become a mug from which to drink your tea. Place these on your vanity to hold cotton balls, cleansing pads, lip stick or gloss, Q-tips and other small bathroom items. Search the Internet or home stores for kettle-themed shower curtains and bath towels to complete the look.
