The one thing that every bride wants to be absolutely perfect is her wedding dress.
The dress is what everyone will see and of course the bride herself wants to look stunning.
Before going round every wedding dress shop with no idea of what you are searching for, there are a few things that should be considered before you start.
There are many considerations when choosing a wedding gown and one of the most important ones is to remember that you will be wearing it all day and all evening, there will be a lot of moving around, standing and sitting so the dress must be comfortable to wear.
Look at the time of year you are planning to have your wedding so that you can choose a gown that will be appropriate for the season, a fine filmy dress would not be warm enough in the middle of winter and likewise a heavy brocade would probably not be very comfortable on a hot day.
So, look at the different fabrics that are on offer and make sure you are going to be comfortable in the one that your gown is made from.
Once you have chosen the sort of fabric you like, you can then look at the design.
There are styles to suit all the different body shapes and it is vital to choose the style that shows off your best qualities.
There is one style that suits many shapes and that is the A line.
It not only makes you look good but does a good job of hiding many features that you may prefer not to show.
Be honest about your body shape as some styles are very unforgiving and it would be most unfortunate if you were to choose one of those and then look back at the photographs with disappointment.
Some gowns will be very plain and others very elaborate.
There is a great choice in the sort of embellishments that can be put on the gown and this is very much down to personal taste.
Whether you like intricate embroidery or sparkly crystals or lace or anything else that takes your fancy, there is a beautifully crafted wedding gown for you.
Whatever style and colour your wedding gown is, make sure you have it fitted.
Most wedding dress shops have got seamstresses who will make sure that your gown is properly fitted and looks fabulous.
You will need to go for several fittings, usually right up until very close to the time of the wedding so that it is fitted to perfection.
Most brides lose weight in the weeks leading up to their wedding day and adjustments to the dress need to be made.
Don't forget to choose accessories such as a veil, a tiara, shoes and jewellery.
Veils come in different styles and lengths and it is a good idea to choose one after you have chosen your dress so that it can complement the gown.
There are so many different headpieces that you can choose from, but most people choose a tiara of some description.
These come in a vast array of styles, colours and sizes so you can pick one that suits the whole ensemble.
Shoes need to be comfortable as you will be on your feet for a good deal of the day, so try on different shoes so that you can see what they feel like and it is always a good idea when you have bought your new wedding shoes to wear them around the house before the wedding so that you can get used to them.
