    Using Windows Live Movie Maker

    • 1). Download and install Windows Live Movie Maker.

    • 2). Open Windows Live Movie Maker.

    • 3). Click the “Add Videos and Photos” button on the “Home” toolbar, select the AVCHD files you want to import and click “Open.” Windows Movie Maker is compatible with AVCHD files that have an M2TS or M2T file extension. The videos will be inserted in the storyboard pane on the right side of the screen.

    • 4). Arrange the videos in your preferred order by clicking and dragging the thumbnail images to your desired location in the storyboard.

    • 5). Click the “Movie Maker” tab, highlight the “Save Movie” option and select “Burn a DVD.” Enter a file name for your video and click “Save.” After saving your movie project, the “Windows DVD Maker” screen will appear.

    • 6). Enter a title for your DVD and click “Next.”

    • 7). Choose your favorite main menu template design from the “Menu Styles” list on the right side of the screen. After selecting a template, you can use the “Menu Text” and “Customize Menu” buttons to add text, music or a personal image to the design.

    • 8). Insert a blank DVD into your computer’s disc drive, and then click the “Burn” button.

    Using Sothink HD Movie Maker

    • 1). Download and install Sothink HD Movie Maker. As of time of publication, the software costs $35. The company, however, offers a free 30-day trial.

    • 2). Launch Sothink HD Movie Maker.

    • 3). Click the “Add Files” button and import your preferred AVCHD files. The program is compatible with AVCHD videos that have an M2TS file extension.

    • 4). Use the “Move Up” and “Move Down” button on the main toolbar to arrange the videos in a specific sequence.

    • 5). Click the “Settings” tab on the right side of the screen. Select the drive you want to use to burn your DVD, as well as the disc’s size such as 4.7GB or 8.5GB. Click the “Video Dimension” drop-down menu and select your preferred video resolution.

    • 6). Click the “Main Menu” tab and select a template design from the “Templates” drop-down menu. After selecting a template, enter a main menu title in the “Title Text” field. Experiment with different main menu designs by adding a personal photo or background music to the template.

    • 7). Insert a blank DVD in your computer’s disc drive and click the “Burn.”

    Using Wondershare DVD Creator

    • 1). Download and install Wondershare DVD Creator. As of time of publication, the software costs approximately $40. To test the software, download the free 30-day evaluation version.

    • 2). Open Wondershare DVD Creator.

    • 3). Click the “Import” button and select each AVCHD file you want to burn to disc. The software supports AVCHD files with an MTS and M2TS file extension.

    • 4). Arrange the videos in your preferred sequence by clicking and dragging each thumbnail image to your desired location.

    • 5). Click the “Menu” tab to design a main menu for your DVD. Depending on your preference, you can use one of the program’s pre-made templates or a use a personal image for the main menu screen. Click the “T” icon to add custom text to the main menu. To add background music, click the “Customize” button and select your preferred song.

    • 6). Click the “Preview” tab to view your main menu design. When you’re satisfied with the design, insert a blank DVD into your computer’s disc drive and click the “Burn” tab.

    • 7). Enter a title for your DVD in the “Disc Label” field and click the “Burn” button.
