Small Steps to Get Out of Debt
Since debt seems to sneak up on you with little purchases here and there, getting out of it might make you it's impossible.
It's not.
There is nothing more freeing than getting yourself out of debt for good and using your money wisely.
We spend more than we should on frivolous things.
First off the bat, cut spending out.
A sure sign you are struggling is if your next months bills are due before you've had a chance to pay last months.
Take the challenge to stop using all credit cards.
Get rid of them as soon as possible.
Start using cash and keep a list of everything you spend money on.
Pay your bills each month and budget what you need for the rest of the month for food, transportation and other necessities.
Once the money budgeted for those items is gone, it's gone.
Start saving for large purchases rather than buying them on credit right away.
The satisfaction of buying something outright instead of paying for it for months or even years on end will really be apparent.
Back in our grandparents generation they would save for months sometimes years for family vacations or big ticket items.
All the family would join in, working hard towards something fun.
In this day and age, we see vacations and bigger ticket items as "must haves" instead of "wants'.
If we took just a little bit of our grandparent's wisdom and saved as families for vacations, they would be much more meaningful.
Imagine going on a well deserved vacation after saving for quite some time and then coming home to nothing to pay off later.
Our vacations would be filled with all the fun it had to offer instead of the dread of how it's going to be paid for later.
Simple small steps that may seem hard in the beginning will have a fantastic outcome: Living a debt free life.
