What Are We So Afraid Of?
It cripples us, blinds us, and for many, runs our lives.
When it comes to our career, we choose to continue working for a company we hate at a job we can't stand.
But why? What is it that makes us think that this is how we have to spend our lives? What are we so afraid of? There seems to be so many questions and not enough answers.
I've heard time and time again of people complaining about their job and my question is always, "Why do you still work there?" They always come back with an excuse that it's hard to find jobs and they wouldn't know where to start looking for one if they quit that job.
Yes, it can be quite difficult to find a good job out there, but who says that you need to go through the whole application/interview/awkward first day phase? Many people know that you can earn a good living working from home, but they never do it themselves.
The reason that many people choose their routine jobs over something better is simple: they're scared.
People don't like change, so they accept waking up early in the morning or going to work late at night.
They don't think twice before they accept a job that pays half of what they deserve.
It becomes a way of life to them, and they don't see a way out.
Well, there is a way out.
Over the years, more and more people have decided to fire their bosses and make a living working from home.
Starting a business seems complicated and an impossible task to most, but it's no less draining than working a 9 to 5.
And best of all, it can be fun.
Yes, fun.
Never thought that word could apply to work, did you? The best thing about starting a business from home is that you get to do what you love to do.
There are no limitations, no one telling you what to do, and you can have fun with it.
If your hobby is scrapbooking or fixing cars, great! Make a business out of it.
It's possible--I know because I've seen it happen.
You should be waking up every morning excited about going to work, not angry that you have to spend another day feeling like a slave.
If fear is the only thing stopping people from starting their own home business, it's time to face the fears head on.
The fear of failure, the fear of wasting time and money, the fear of not knowing how to start - talk about irrational fears.
The only thing that you should be afraid of is waking up years from now, filled with regret because you never took the risk.
