How to Manage Your Time When You Don"t Have Enough of It
Managing your time well can be one of the most elusive goals when you feel that there just aren't enough hours in the day to do everything that you have to do.
In this article, I'll be laying out some simple things you can do to start managing your time better, even if you currently feel that there just aren't enough hours in a day...
First, a Serious Consideration If you honestly feel that you don't have enough hours in a day, then one thing is for certain: you're trying to do too much.
There's no other way to look at this, because you can't buy more time.
Instead, you have to learn to manage the thing which you are really running out of when the day comes to a close: your energy.
For the next week, just keep track of how you're spending your energy.
I recommend keeping a time log of your activities in detail and the amount of time spent.
For example, what are you doing that takes the most of your physical energy? What are you doing that takes the most of your emotional energy? What are you doing during the times when you have the most energy and the most focus? Are these the things which require the most energy and focus, or are you wasting your energy on things which aren't that important? Honestly ask yourself this, and you'll find that the way you're spending your energy is having a HUGE impact on your ability to effectively manage your time.
Second, Buy More Energy You might not be able to buy more time, but if you're willing to pay the price, you CAN buy more energy.
For example, consistent exercise gives you more energy and more focus, it helps you to sleep better at night and it aids in energy recovery.
Of course, you might be thinking that you don't have the time to exercise.
Remember however that if you manage your energy well, you'll get MUCH more out of the time you have.
This means that if you pay the price in having a good diet, healthy fluid intake and spending at least 15 to 20 minutes a day exercising, you'll have more energy and thus get more out of the time that you have.
Just try these time management tips for a week and see the difference that it makes for you.
Good fortune!
