How to Remove Fat Stains
- 1). Sprinkle talcum or baby powder onto the stain. Make sure to cover all areas of the stain completely. If the stain is on a kitchen counter or area where there are food or cooking utensils, make sure that the area is cleared. Let the powder sit for 10 to 30 minutes. The longer you let it sit, the better the oil will be soak up with the powder.
- 2). Scrub into the powder and grease using an SOS pad or any other tough cloth that will help you to dig deep into the stain.
- 3). Soak anything that is left of the stain using a sponge. Use hot water to rid any excess grease that the powder didn't catch.
- 4). Add dish-washing soap and scrub really hard, using the sponge or a soft scrub brush. This will assure that you get any leftover spots.
- 5). Dry the spot and let it sit for at least three hours. Eventually you'll want to spray a degreaser or kitchen cleaning product onto the stain to further protect the tile or kitchen counters.
